Planning a nursery is one of the most exciting things you get to do as a mom. I think I speak for most of us when I say you spend hours pinning everything from crib sheets to the perfect side tables. Well today I’m sharing my 5 favorite items for a nursery, and the best part? They are all from small shops run my mamas! I love shopping small and really took advantage of it while I was planning this nursery.
Thread and Heart
If you have been following my sneak peeks of Lennon’s nursery on my Instagram, you know it has a bohemian vibe. I knew I wanted something for over her crib, but had the hardest time finding what exactly that was. Then I found Threat and Heart and was stunned at the beauty and detail in her creations. The owner, Brittany, created the most amazing felt flowers…and I knew I had to have one! She also makes the most beautiful bouquets, I want every single one… especially since I have the blackest thumb in all the land.
Hudson Baby Company
Corey is a mastermind at creating boppy covers. I got in touch with her when I first started our nursery, because I knew I wanted her to create my boppy cover. She sent me tons of fabric choices and I ended up with the cutest cover. I also had redone an old bassinet I scored on craigslist, so she made a custom bassinet sheet for that too. Pretty much you can send her an idea of what you want and she will find you that. Since this baby is our second girl I was over the super girly look and wanted an earthy fun vibe. Corey found me the most beautiful cactus and floral fabrics. Don’t hesitate to reach out to her with custom orders too. I had redone an old bassinet I scored on craigslist but couldn’t find sheets anywhere to fit, so she made a custom bassinet sheet for me.
Kee Creative
Kee Creative has a special place in my heart. It was started by a mama. Robin Kee, as a way to raise money for her family to adopt. 100% of your purchase goes to putting a sweet baby in this loving mama’s arms. Robin is actually a friend of a friend, so when my friend posted a link to her shop I couldn’t wait to order! I got each girl a print and they are so beautiful. I wish I had half the talent to create something like that! She is constantly adding new pieces, which leaves me constantly wanting more!
The Little Arrows
I am a sucker for swaddles, and The Little Arrows has some amazing ones to choose from. What drew me to her was that you can get swaddles that are personalized with your child's name. They would also make fantastic gifts for all your mommy pals! The Little Arrows is run by a busy mama to 3 beautiful boys, Emily!
Smash Company
Created by a momma of 2, Amber, Smash Company offers crib sheets, blankets, and the cutest darn pacifier clips. Everything is handmade, with that special mama touch. Ashley said she wanted her kids rooms to be an extension of her eclectic style, because like me she had such a hard time finding things that were for girls but not over the top girl, so she always has tons of fun fabrics to pick from. I love that a lot of prints have an aztec/tribal feel. For some reason I’m all about it lately!
